What will you be doing?

  • Your tasks & responsibilities are (amongst others):
  • Producing regular financial reports, such as financial statements, management reports, group reports (to HO in Tokyo), budget, as well as any ad-hoc reports;
  • Producing periodical regulatory reports, including FINREP, AE, DGS-Q, BSI, MIR, MESREP, as well as any ad-hoc reports if required by the regulator;
  • Producing regular tax related reports/returns, such as corporate income tax, bank levy, DAC6 and transfer pricing documentation;
  • (Support on) producing public disclosure such as Annual Report (finance related parts);
  • Reviewing reports described above produced by preparer;
  • Implementing and reviewing internal controls on periodical basis, including J-SOX when required by HO;
  • To be able to operate core systems for periodical closing and extract data from various systems in order to create reports or share with relevant stakeholders under request;
  • Maintaining and updating user specifications/requirements for IT systems which are necessary for financial/ regulatory/tax reporting, as well as user acceptance testing, in collaboration with internal IT developer and external IT vendors;
  • Identifying and resolving data discrepancies and anomalies in source documents in collaboration with relevant divisions and/or IT vendors;
  • Supporting Team Lead on initiating and implementing improvements in processes and controls, constructing working manuals and automate work file wherever possible;
  • Supporting Team Lead on communication and liaison with external stakeholders such as regulators, auditors, advisors, HO in Tokyo and London Branch, IT vendors;
  • Monitoring and investigating on accounting, regulatory reporting and taxation legislative or regulatory requirements and developments, advising or supporting Division Manager upon changes on impact analysis and implementation;
  • Supporting in making necessary arrangements for external audit, including coordination with other divisions as well as preparing documents or interviews required;
  • Preparing materials and presentations for committees/board meetings.

You are part of the Finance & Control team within the Finance & Tax division, which consists of 15 dedicated professionals who are responsible for all finance, control, accounting, tax and reporting activities. In this role you will closely collaborate with co-workers within the Finance & Tax division, as well as other divisions such as Risk Management, Planning, and front office.

What do we ask of you?

You are an experienced finance professional who is able to resolve complex accounting and reporting challenges with a systematic approach and solution-oriented thinking, at the same time with high attention to details. You have excellent analytical and numerical skills and you are able to keep overview in a complex organization. In this role you need to be accurate and have the ability to plan, prioritize, manage, and execute multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously. Furthermore, we are looking for an effective team player who can work independently as well. You are flexible, pro-active, easy to approach and you take initiatives.  Last but not least we expect you to be a reliable person who acts with integrity.

In addition, you have/ are:

  • A bachelor or master degree in finance, accounting or business administration;
  • At least 5 years of work experience as financial controller/ accountant, preferably at an international bank or as auditor at an accountancy firm;
  • Proficient knowledge in accounting standards (IFRS), holding of professional accounting qualifications (ACCA/CPA/RA) would be a bonus;
  • Experience and knowledge in EU/Dutch regulatory reporting such as FINREP/BSI, experience and knowledge in OneSumX regulatory reporting system would be a bonus; 
  • When required, capable and comfortable to be either a self-starter and work independently, or a team player to collaborating well with teammates;
  • Proficient skill and working experience in Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Fluency in English is required; 
  • An international mind-set and intercultural sensitivity
